JLR 2025 Symposium: The Future of Agency Independence

On November 8, 2024, Volume 58 of The University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform hosted its symposium entitled “The Future of Agency Independence.” The top law scholars came from across the country to discuss and debate the hottest topics in administrative law. The panel topics included the Traditional Debate on Unitary Executive and Independent Agencies, Scientific Expertise in Agency Decision-making, Agency Adjudicator Independence, and the Future of Federal Civil Service. Former Commissioner of the FTC Noah J. Phillips delivered the keynote address with commentary from Michigan Law Professor Daniel Crane. A special thank you goes out to Professor Chis Walker who served as our main faculty advisor on the Symposium.
