Comments are short to mid-length pieces (10-20 pages) submitted for publication in Caveat. Unlike Notes and Blog Posts, Comments can be published by academics, judges, practitioners, and law students focusing on timely legal reform.

Submission Process

Comments may be submitted to our Editorial Team on a rolling basis. Each submission must contain:

1. A title, abstract, introduction, conclusion, and appropriate structure (i.e., Parts I, II, and III); and
2. A short paragraph summarizing the scholarship already published on the topic and how the submission adds to, or is distinguished from, this literature.

Comments are accepted on a rolling basis year-round and will be published on an expedited production schedule.

Each submission should be double-spaced and conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (22nd ed. 2025) and The Chicago Manual of Style (18th ed. 2024). Please enclose a résumé, a list of previous publications, and/or a vita with the submission, which can be helpful for the Journal’s reviewers.
